Japan's local hero will bring the sport home in 2015 and this season gave fans a taste of what's to come

Yoshi Muroya joined the ranks of the racing elite in 2009 when he was a newcomer to the Red Bull Air Race. Mentored by former race pilot and current Race Director Steve Jones, Muroya has refined his game since then with a solid season in 2014. Finishing in 9th place overall, the Japanese pilot made the podium earlier this season with a 3rd place in Rovinj, Croatia, where the challenging racetrack caught out many of the more seasoned competitors. We still saw the characterisic pylon hits this year but overall consistency is improving. With Japan making the 2015 calendar for the first time in the sport's history, the legions of Japanese fans will be backing Muroya all the way...
