Bad weather conditions, including high winds and gusts above 30kts (34 mph) have forced the Race Committee to cancel the Challenger Cup Final in Las Vegas on 16 October, 2016.
"The strong wind today has resulted in the Race Committee taking the decision to cancel the Challenger Cup Final. Safety is our utmost priority and with gusts over 30kts, it exceeds our ability to conduct the race in a safe manner," said Race Director, Steve Jones.
The 2016 Challenger Cup result will be based on points from each pilot's top three finishes this season. This therefore means that the winner of the Challenger Cup is Florian Berger (28 pts), 2. Daniel Ryfa (26 pts), 3. Kevin Coleman (26pts).
