Swedish pilot Daniel Ryfa threw down the gauntlet to his Challenger Cup rivals with an impressive time of 1:06.090 in the last flying session before Qualifying later this morning.
Second fastest Florian Bergér was just 0.402s behind Ryfa and looks to be picking up where he left off last season. Returning pilot Luke Czepiela improved greatly on yesterday's times and posted 1:07.288, coming in third.
New member of the Challenger Cup Kevin Coleman has been consistent through his sessions so far and has already marked himself out as one to watch in Qualifying, having taken the fastest time in FP2. The American pilot posted the fourth fastest time with 1:07.397, gaining almost a full 1s on Brazil's Barros. British former Red Arrows pilot Ben Murphy – another new addition to this season's Challenger Cup – was off Ryfa's pace by 2.231s, but has shown improvement in almost every run and could move up the timesheets at the end of today's Qualifying Day session.
Qualifying for the Challenger Cup begins at 11:20 UTC – follow the action here.
