BREAKING NEWS: Dolderer unable to race in Budapest due to illness

2016 World Champion will not race in Budapest

Disappointment for Dolderer

Matthias Dolderer of Germany is not able to continue to fly today due to medical reasons and will not be taking part in the fourth Round of the Red Bull Air Race World Championship in Budapest, Hungary. This means that he receives no World Championship points for this stop.

After Free Practice 3 on Saturday 23 June, Matthias took the difficult decision himself not to fly this weekend as he is not feeling fully fit. The wellbeing and safety of our pilots is of foremost importance and Red Bull Air Race respects and supports Matthias in this decision. The team is already focusing on and preparing for the next race in Kazan, Russia in August.

This means:
• Dolderer will always be ranked 14th in all Master Class flying sessions.
• The winner of the Qualifying will proceed to the Round of 8 unopposed, provided that the pilot has a valid time in the Round of 14 (If he gets a DQ or also a DNS then the two Fastest Losers go through).
