The Red Bull Air Race World Championship has decided to make round five of the 2017 season a double-header for the Challenger Class races.
The changes come in to effect due to the fact that there will now be no Challenger race in Chiba. An official statement said: "Due to organisational reasons, the difficult decision has been taken to reschedule round three of the Challenger Cup. The race, expected to take place in Chiba, Japan will now take place on the same weekend as round 5 in Kazan, Russia on 22 and 23 July. No other Challenger Cup races are affected."
The rescheduled race will give the Challengers an opportunity to try and catch current leader, and Challenger Champion, Florian Bergér who will not be competing at round three. He will be the only Challenger not racing in Russia and will have to watch his rivals try to catch him.
