Czech pilot Petr Kopfstein looked back to his table-topping best in the final Free Practice session before this afternoon's Qualifying flights.
Kopfstein was sixth into the track so he'd seen what the early pilots had flown, but he blew them all away with a time of 58.184s – it was his third run so he would have entered the track at a faster speed than he'll be able to with the standing start.
Current World Champion Yoshihide Muroya was another pilot to hit form before Qualifying. He crossed the Finish Gate just 0.144s behind Kopfstein. Third was Matt Hall and just behind him was Martin Sonka – those two pilots are joint second in the standings on 49 points and will want to get the better of each other.
Championship leader Michael Goulian was fifth and he was just over a second slower than Kopfstein. Ben Murphy was in sixth. Considering this is his first Master Class race over land, and with a standing start, he'll be pleased with his progress in the Free Practice sessions.
Cristian Bolton is another pilot that will be pleased with his time of 1:00.444, which saw him in ninth, just one spot below Juan Velarde. Kirby Chambliss was in 10th, with Nicolas Ivanoff in 11th.
2016 World Champion Matthias Dolderer could not put a clean run together and found himself bottom of the timesheet. His fastest time of 1:02.801 included four seconds of penalties. Just above Dolderer was François Le Vot in 13th and Pete McLeod in 12th.
The pilots will be back in the track at 16:00CET for Qualifying. Catch all the action live, right HERE.
