American Michael Goulian flew the perfect run to take the top spot in Qualifying and show that the start of his season was no fluke.
The current standings leader's first run was slow with a penalty, but after he regrouped he flew the perfect lines and set a time of 55.424s on his second of two runs – the second fastest time of race week so far. Fellow American Kirby Chambliss was second, 0.634s slower than Goulian.
Third place went to the Japanese fans' favourite Yoshihide Muroya who posted a time of 56.403s. Fourth place was Matthias Dolderer and Pete McLeod finished in fifth.
Matt Hall, who has been performing well all week, was unlucky in his runs and finished down in 12th place, meaning he'll go head-to-head against Muroya in the Round of 14 tomorrow.
Martin Sonka also didn't perform as well as his early form had shown and finished ninth on the timesheet.
New Master Class pilot Ben Murphy finished bottom of the pack and will face Goulian in the Round of 14.
