Ryfa rules final Free Practice

The Swedish pilot is aiming for a hat-trick of Abu Dhabi wins

Ryfa racing to the Finish Gate

As the tension builds in the opening race of the Challenger Cup for 2018 Daniel Ryfa drew his line in the sand and told his rivals to try and catch him.

In the final session before this afternoon's Qualifying, Ryfa set the time to beat with a 58.285s run. He was 0.786s faster than his closest competitor Kevin Coleman, who has improved his lines from yesterday. Both pilots will have fond memories of Abu Dhabi with Coleman on the podium in his first race here and Ryfa winning the last two.

Luke Czepiela was third on the timesheet, he will be looking to improve and rid himself of his Abu Dhabi demons having never performed well here. Being just 1.171s behind Ryfa will give him a boost.

New pilot Patrick Davidson was fourth on the timesheet. In only his third competitive session he'll be pleased with himself and hoping to repeat his performance in Qualifying. The other new pilot Dario Costa, picked up a two second penalty, which saw him finish seventh.

Daniel Genevey was fifth but most surprising of all was reigning Challenger Cup Champion Florian Bergér, who was down in sixth, picking up four seconds of penalties. He will be closely analysing his lines before Qualifying.

The Challengers will be Qualifying at 13:20 local, you can catch the action HERE.
