In the final session before this afternoon's Qualifying, Martin Sonka posted the quickest time of the race week so far, crossing the Start/Finish Gate in 1:00.604.
Today's conditions were a dream for pilots after they put the turbulent flying of yesterday behind them. Pilots managed to better their times and Sonka was more than five seconds faster than his time yesterday. Just behind the Czech pilot was Pete McLeod who clocked in just 0.266s slower than Sonka.
Matt Hall looks back to his best finishing third on the timesheet. It was in Budapest in 2016 where he turned his season around and it looks like he might be able to do it again here. Just behind Hall was Yoshihide Muroya, who is looking to make it a hat-trick of wins if he can do so here. He was 1.128s behind Sonka.
Petr Kopfstein, fresh from his second place in Chiba was smooth in the track and finished fifth, just 1.190s behind the session leader.
François Le Vot was another pilot who looked to be in top form with his new raceplane. This is the second day of him flying in the track and it was enough to see him finish eighth on the timesheet.
The biggest surprise of the session was current World Champion Matthias Dolderer finishing last. He picked up four second worth of penalties in his run, but even without those he would've only finished eighth.
