Coleman strongest in Challenger Qualifying

The American is in great shape

Coleman quickest in Qualifying

Kevin Coleman flew a near-perfect round at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway in Qualifying, which gave him a time of 1:17.032 and was enough to see him top of the timesheet.

The Challenger Class pilots have all expressed how much they enjoy this track but only Coleman and Luke Czepiela were able to fly the session without picking up any penalties. Czepiela flew his first clean run of the weekend to finish second, but he was quite a way off the pace, finishing more than two seconds behind Coleman.

Coleman made it clear at the start of race week that he wanted to win at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway as he sees it as his home race. And the American looked in great form.

Melanie Astles, who struggled in the Free Practice sessions, posted a time of 1:20.245. This included four seconds worth of penalties, but was good enough to see her finish in third.

Ben Murphy who was top in both sessions yesterday, struck a pylon at Gate 11 and with a three second penalty could only finish bottom, but the Brit feels he has his lines sorted and is confident going into tomorrow's race.
