Ivanoff claims emphatic victory in Abu Dhabi

French pilot takes the win with Le Vot claiming his first Master Class podium

Ivanoff was fastest through the Finish Gate

French pilot Nicolas Ivanoff stormed through the racetrack in Abu Dhabi to claim the win at the season opener with an impressive time of 58.550s – the fastest time of the day, with Matthias Dolderer just 0.110s behind him.

Fellow Frenchman François Le Vot was able to claim his first Master Class podium of his career with an impressive third place. Hannes Arch finished fourth when he was Disqualified for crossing the safety line after Gate 3.

In the Final 4 Matthias Dolderer flew before Ivanoff and looked set for the win, when he laid down a time of 58.660s Ivanoff looked like he was going to have to settle for second when he was behind in the second split, but he clawed back the time and took the top spot.

Le Vot was first out on the track and picked up a penalty for an incorrect level, but due to Hannes Arch's DQ it was enough for the Team Breitling pilot to claim his first podium in the elite category. Le Vot didn't collect one Championship point in 2015; this year he is already third in the Championship. What a great start to his season.
