Martin Sonka broke the track record at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway in Free Practice 3 when he topped the timesheet with a scorching time of 1:02.72 – the only pilot to fly under 1:03.00. The Czech pilot's time could not be beaten; American Michael Goulian was closest, finishing 0.921s behind.
World Championship leader Matthias Dolderer could only finish third. He pulled a Safety Climb Out (SCO) in his first run and then collected a two second penalty in his second, which otherwise would've seen him top of the timesheet.
Yoshihide Muroya was another pilot who, without his penalty would've finished higher. The Japanese pilot was fourth but picked up three seconds worth of penalties. Pete McLeod, who loves this track was close behind Muroya in fifth.
Matt Hall, who is chasing Matthias Dolderer for the World Championship title is recovering from an illness and could only finish seventh on the timesheet, behind Nigel Lamb in sixth.
New Master Class pilot Cristian Bolton is performing exceptionally well in his first race in the elite category. In Free Practice 3, the Chilean finished with a time, which saw him 13th on the timesheet.
Qualifying for the Master Class pilots begins at 16:00 (local time). You can follow all the action live HERE!
