Close finish in Porto Virtual World Championship

As we get closer to the final, it’s getting tense in the virtual world

Chambliss in the track

The Porto round of the Virtual World Championship was as exciting as the real thing, and the race was won by one of the upcoming pilots of the 2017 series.

Gamers who downloaded Red Bull Air Race – 2, the mobile game, fought it out over the virtual waters of the Douro River as they tried to claim some fantastic prizes.

German virtual pilot PlayinPilot took the win in fine style, beating more than 1,600 other pilots in the competition. PlayinPilot has been looking to take this win for a while. They finished second in the Chiba round and second again at the last round in Kazan. They have now claimed a spot at the season finale, and a chance to win a G-flight with a Red Bull Air Race pilot.

PlayinPilot finished the Porto track with a time of 52.5074s. Closest to catching the German was Jason Voorhees, from Bulgaria, who crossed the Start/Finish Gate just 0.0188s behind. Third place went to Czech pilot Jiri Martan, with a time of 52.7705s.

Winners of each round of the Virtual World Championship will be invited to the season finale to see who will be crowned the 2017 champion. If you think you've got what it takes then download Red Bull Air Race – 2 and get training, the Lausitzring round opened today.
