Reactions: Challenger Cup Race in Abu Dhabi

The first Challenger Cup race of the season is over, here's what the pilots thought...

Bolton on the way to his first win

With the mercury pushing close to 30 degrees, the temperature was rising for the Challenger Cup Race, here's what the pilots thought:

1. Christian Bolton (CHI)
"Wow, it's incredible. I knew I was going to be on the podium, because of the time of some of the other pilots, but I really wasn't expecting the win. This is my first win in the Challenger Cup, so I'm very happy."

2. Petr Kopfstein (CZE)
"I really enjoyed the flight. I could've been a bit faster, but I was trying not to make any mistakes. I didn't want to get any penalties. I tried to fly fast, but I also needed to be conservative to keep the balance. I'm happy because it's a podium, but it's not a win."

3. Mikael Brageot (FRA)
"I'm really happy to be on the podium in the first race of the year. I was feeling good in the raceplane. I was relaxed, but focused before I came into the track and whilst I was racing. My flight was fast, and I'm pleased with that."

4. Florian Berger (GER)
"I feel really good. It was really cool to be racing. It's a nice feeling. My goal was to not hit a pylon and I didn't and my time was really good."

5. Daniel Ryfa (SWE)
"It was a good flight, but I picked up the penalty for incorrect level through the gate and it really cost me. So I'm angry with myself, because without that I would've been on the podium. Congratulations to the winner."

6. Francis Barros (BRA)
"I flew too low, the water was really calm today and I just dropped. But I've learnt a lot in Abu Dhabi and I need a better strategy before the race. I know what I need to work on to improve."
