Red Bull Air Race pilot: 2015-2016 (Challenger Class)
Brazil's Francis Barros joined the Red Bull Air Race Challenger Class in 2015, competing for two seasons. He brought with him the experience of over 10,000 hours in the sky, including a stellar record as an aerobatic pilot and instructor who had won Brazil's National Aerobatic Championship three times and earned the best-ranking position of any Brazilian pilot in history at the World Aerobatics Championships. Born in Porto Alegre (1977) to a family that is passionate about flying, Barros is credited as one of the few aviators in the world who is able to perform the "Rolling Loop" manoeuver. He is also a Captain and instructor on the Airbus A330 family of aircraft, as well as a display pilot.
