Red Bull Air Race pilot 2007-2010
The first pilot from Russia to compete in the Red Bull Air Race, Sergey Rakhmanin (born 1961 in Karl-Marx-Stadt, Germany) accumulated 13 top-10 race finishes from 2007 to 2010. In powered aerobatic competition Rakhmanin is a two-time winner of the Unlimited World Championship and captured the overall European title, the USSR Absolute Aerobatic Championship, and four Russian national crowns, as well as two team World Championships. In glider aerobatics, he captured team gold and individual bronze at the World level and team gold in the European Championships. His achievements have earned him the FAI Air Sport Medal and the designation of Honored Master of Sport of Russia.
