Red Bull Air Race pilot: 2003-2015
With over 45 podiums, 19 race wins and an unmatched three World Championship titles across 10 seasons, Paul Bonhomme of Great Britain is the most successful pilot in Red Bull Air Race history. A role model for his innovation and supremely effective competitiveness, the Buckinghamshire native (1964) retired at the top of his game soon after clinching his third world crown in 2015. Today he shares the benefit of his expertise with Master Class and Challenger Class pilots alike, as well as with fans worldwide as a Red Bull Air Race live commentator. Early in his career, Bonhomme was a flying instructor and an air-taxi pilot; currently a 747 captain, he has been with British Airways for nearly three decades. Partnered by Steve Jones as wingman, Bonhomme is leader of the medal-winning Matadors Aerobatic Team, which thrills crowds with display flights. He is also an avid display pilot for vintage aircraft.
